Irish Guards Officers Sword and Scabbard
Irish Guards Officers Sword and Scabbard
The current Brigade of Guards pattern was approved in 1854 and was a steel version of the 1845 Infantry pattern sword. The Irish Guards sword is embossed with the regimental badge and battle honours of the individual guard.
The 1854 pattern Irish Guards sword is carried in a nickel-plated steel scabbard with a shoe, mouthpiece and two suspension bands and rings. A brown leather scabbard is also available for service wear.
