Coldstream Guards Officers Sword and Scabbard
Coldstream Guards Officers Sword and Scabbard
Commissioned in 1854, the Coldstream Guards sword is also commonly referred to as the Brigade of Guards Sword. The 1854 variant is the steel version of the 1845 Infantry pattern barring the exclusion of the hinged flap and addition of the individual Guard’s regimental cartouche. In 1857 the blade of Guards’ swords was embellished with their regimental badge and battle honours.
The 1854 pattern Coldstream Guards sword is carried in a nickel-plated steel scabbard with a shoe, mouthpiece and two suspension bands and rings. A brown leather scabbard is also available for service wear.
